The early years learning framework ( EYLF) for children is an early childhood curriculum of Australia that is introduced a new quality standard in 2012 to improve education and care across long day care, family daycare, family daycare, preschool, kindergarten and outside school hours care.
the learning outcomes are broken in to these categories:
Within these leaning outcomes educators have multiple guidelines they can use to manage and monitor the progress of their children. EYLF has a strong emphasis on play-based learning, furthermore the framework recognize the importance of communication and language including early literacy and numeracy as well as social and emotional development. Finally the framework has a focus on successful transition to formal schooling.
Little steps daycare and preschool is in accordance with international standards.
At little steps daycare and preschool we pay attention to personal hygiene and cleanliness to minimize the risk of spreading germs. If your child shows any signs of illness (runny nose, cough, fever, diarrhea or others) please keep them at home to recover. Infection and illness can spread quickly but may be avoided if we have respect and consideration for all our student, families and staff.
In the event of emergency, our trained staff will immediately administer first aid while a second staff member assist and call the parent, it is essential for parents to provide updated information on where you can be reached, physicians name and contact details and emergency contacts.
At little steps, the school gate opens at 7:00am, daily routine starts at 9:00am and ends at 6:00pm depending on child’s age and preference. It is possible to drop off late or pick up early. overtime payment applies on pickup after 6:00pm.
All children’s personal items must be labeled with your child’s name. we request children not to bring other toys from home to the daycare to ensure they don’t get lost or taken home by another child.
Please make sure all items are marked with your child’s name
Communication between parents and school is very important for successful preschool program. Our staff will communicate with parents regularly by arranging one on one meeting. Teachers are available every day at the time of drop off and pickup time.
Early childhood learning will have a direct effect on the child’s overall development. It is important that early childhood educators and parents work together to develop child re-silence as early as possible. That is why understanding the need to invest in very young children is so important so as to maximize their future well being. The main difference between daycare and kindergarten is that you can enrol your child into daycare from 4 month old while kindergartens admit children from 4 year old up to 8 year old . It’s a big advantage to keep your child in the same environment for longer years rather than changing them in different institutions. The bonus at growing in LITTLE STEPS DAYCARE AND KINDERGARTEN is that along with academic development, we also impart the skills in extracurricular activities to give your children the confidence to make their marks in the world.
We aim to provide high quality childcare service that is educational with positive and enjoyable experience. We are here to prepare young children for their transition in to kindergarten that will give the children head start towards a bright future. Our goal is to make them independent, responsible and confident – ready for school and ready for life. Children’s at little steps day care & preschool learn through active involvement with people, materials, events and ideas. Play is an important part of learning process which helps children’s to communicate and express themselves at many levels.
We aim not to just impart knowledge to the students, but also to inculcate in them – wisdom, compassion and a humanitarian spirit. We believe that every child has the right to study in a calm, orderly, safe and secure environment. We value every child and provide them a stimulating and enriching environment so that the children can enjoy and understand all aspects of their learning.
We encourage you to provide your child with healthy and nutritional snacks and lunch. please remember not to send in any glass bottles or sugary foods. The school provides filtered water and can be refilled throughout the day so your child can be hydrated.
All children in the daycare program are encouraged to have a rest during our quite time however, we do not force children to sleep if a child is unable to rest on the coat provided. The day care staff will provide the child activities such as looking at a book.
